In recognition of Heart Month, VUMC’s tiniest sweethearts celebrated Valentine’s Day by creating a special gift for their loved ones. Babies in Vanderbilt’s Newborn Nursery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit had their feet painted and placed on a onesie in the shape of a heart. The onesies with the babies’ foot artwork were then given to their families.

Heart prints using the babies’ red footprints made a one-of-a-kind Valentine.

Parents Elizabeth and Scott Massey celebrate their daughter Charlotte’s first Valentine’s Day with smiles all around.

It turns out babies’ tiny feet not only make hearts, they can melt hearts, too.
