Kady Musgrave, Adult Emergency. Diesel the dog and Patrick, the cat. “Patrick passed away this past year, and I am submitting this in honor of him.”
This is the third installment of photographs submitted by VUMC employees to the 2023 VUMC Voice Pet Photo Contest. Hundreds of pictures were submitted for the contest, and while we won’t be able to use all, or even most, of the pictures we received, we hope to showcase a good sample of the best of the beasts.
Remember, the top prize offered in the contest is a photo of your pet in VUMC Voice.
If you missed sending in an entry this year, and your pet is peeved about it, please reassure him or her that there will be a future VUMC Voice Pet Photo Contest, but explain that the deadline for entries for this year has passed, and no more pictures will be accepted. We hope your pet understands.

Katie McDonnell, Acute Rehab. Ernie and Evie. “Ernie was rescued from the apartment complex my fiance worked at in Chattanooga. Evie is from Old Friends Senior dog sanctuary in Mt Juliet. She had her eye removed but that doesn’t slow her down.”
Stephanie Clark, Finance. “Very Special Agent Abigail Sciuto and Very Special Agent Ziva David. This picture is in my home office. They are practicing their ninja skills while mom works.”

Subasish “Bosh” Bhowmik, Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine. “I have two Siamese mixed cats, Flik and Hoochu. Hoochu is 2 years old and her name is Korean for pepper. Flik is now a senior kitty at 8 years old and he has traveled around the USA and is now living in his fourth different state.”
Kristy Black, Vanderbilt Pharmacy Billing Office. “Dax and Stella are Chinese cresteds. Dax is 3 and Stella is 1.”
Leona Beachy, Vanderbilt Health Metro Nashville Public Schools Wellness Center. “Both strays, Zoe and Isabella bring such joy to my life. Zoe is quiet and super chill while Isabella is spunky, talkative and loves to play.”

Emily Duncan, 4 East Mother Baby Obstetrics. “June (gray/black) and Cash (all black). They are 2-year-old goldendoodle brother and sister. They love to cuddle with each other (and me), watch what is happening outside through the windows (my own little neighborhood watch) and they’ve always loved to hang off the back of the couch (no clue why – they have done it since they were puppies). They are the sweetest and best pups there are!”

Brandy Guadiana, VIP Children’s Clinic, Springfield. Dog Roxie and cat Mocha. “Roxie is 8. Mocha is 1, and was a feral cat but now is turned into a sweet loving kitty. He loves jumping out and scaring Roxie when she comes back inside.”
Richard Phelps, Data Center Services. “Both dogs are Australian cattle dogs. Roo is a red heeler, Sasha is a blue heeler. “These two heelers wake up each morning with their paws on a mission to tirelessly patrol the shoreline on Old Hickory Lake, chasing off geese and at times chasing each other.”
