Christmas is a holiday that celebrates the birth of a baby; here are photos of some babies who spent their first Christmas in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, surrounded by the love of family and in the care of their doctors and nurses.
Some are sleeping in heavenly peace; others are wide awake and don’t seem to want to miss anything that’s going on.
The pictures were taken by staff of the NICU, and are shared with permission of the babies’ families. Please note that these pictures do not represent safe sleep practices; they were carefully created for keepsakes for the parents.
